Chile has a privileged climate and a unique geography that combine to create excellent conditions for growing wine grapes in a highly natural setting.

The Valle de Aconcagua, 100 km north of Santiago, the capital of Chile, was chosen as the perfect setting for Viña Arboleda.

The cold coastal winds that blow in from the Pacific Ocean toward the Andes Mountains pair up with a Mediterranean climate to allow the grapes to ripen slowly, which intensifies both elegance and freshness in our wines.

Located in Aconcagua Costa, the vineyard is named Chilhué," which means "place of seagulls" in the local native language. The site was especially selected for Arboleda wines as an ideal place for cool-climate varieties.

This project began seven years ago with one very clear objective: to find the best terroir near the sea for making wines that would stand out from the rest, with well-defined cool-climate characteristics that would lend a mark of distinction to the wines from Viña Arboleda.

The Aconcagua Costa project, just 12 km (8 mi) from the cold Pacific Ocean has one of the lowest average temperatures of all of Chile's coastal zones and turned Viña Arboleda into the pioneer producer in this new viticultural zone.

The vineyard has 113 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, all planted on hillsides with varying slopes and solar orientations so that a single grape variety produces fruit with different characteristics and contributes greater complexity to the final blend.

Las Vertientes was named for the natural springs found on the property. It is located approximately 40 km (25 mi) inland from the Pacific Ocean and is known for its moderately warm temperatures and diverse soils that range from alluvial terraces with high stone content to colluvial piedmont with more clay.

This vineyard has earned Arboleda high praise for its red wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
